EastEnders fans hoping to see Stacey Slater back in Walford may have to wait a little longer, as actress Lacey Turner has revealed that she has no immediate plans to return to the BBC soap.
Speaking on former EastEnders co-star Natalie Cassidy’s podcast, Life with Nat, Turner opened up about her time away from the show and whether she could see herself reprising the role of Stacey in the future.
“I would love to one day, but right now there’s just no time,” the actress explained.
Turner has been enjoying a break from the demanding filming schedule, spending more time with her family and making the most of life away from Albert Square.
The actress, who has played Stacey since 2004, has become one of EastEnders’ most recognisable stars, with the character involved in numerous major storylines over the years.
Stacey departed Walford in 2025 following a difficult period in her life, eventually leaving for Brazil with her younger children to start afresh with her brother Sean.
Her exit came after the death of Martin Fowler and the breakdown of her complicated relationship with Max Branning, leaving plenty of unfinished business for the character.
Although there has been speculation about a possible guest appearance around the festive period, no return date has been confirmed by Turner herself.
The latest comments suggest that, while she remains keen to return at some point, fans should not expect an immediate comeback.
Turner has made it clear that EastEnders will always hold a special place in her heart, so the door remains open for Stacey to return when the time is right.
For now, however, viewers will have to be patient as the Slater favourite continues to enjoy her time away from the Square.
Would you like to see Stacey Slater return to EastEnders soon, or do you think the show should wait until Lacey Turner is ready?
