With Sean Slater back in Walford and determined to help find missing Amy Mitchell, some EastEnders viewers may be wondering what the connection between the pair actually is.
And their history goes back almost 18 years!
Sean was previously married to Amy’s mum, the late Roxy Mitchell, with the pair tying the knot back in 2008.
When Roxy fell pregnant, Sean believed he was going to become a father and was overjoyed when baby Amy arrived.
However, there was a huge twist when the truth about Amy’s biological father came out.
It turned out that Amy was actually the daughter of Jack Branning, following a one-night stand between him and Roxy.
Sean was devastated to discover that the little girl he believed was his daughter wasn’t biologically his.
Sean’s reaction was explosive, and he eventually left Walford after a terrifying storyline involving Roxy and Amy.
Despite everything that happened, Sean never stopped caring about Amy and has continued to think of her as his own child.
Now, with Amy missing, Sean is back alongside Jack to help bring her home safely.
Although Jack is Amy’s biological father, Sean is the man who once helped raise her and clearly still feels a huge responsibility towards her.
So, is Sean Amy’s dad? Not biologically, but he is her former stepfather, having been married to her mum Roxy.
And with Sean now back in Walford, could his bond with Amy become even more important?
