Ethan Williams was one of those characters who could always be relied upon to bring drama, intrigue and plenty of talking points to Hollyoaks.
During his time in the village, Ethan became involved in some major storylines, with his complicated love life, relationships with Sienna Blake and Vicky Grant, and his connections to the McQueen family keeping viewers invested.
He was never simply a background character. Ethan had plenty of layers, and whether viewers loved him or found themselves frustrated by his decisions, he certainly knew how to get people talking.
His relationship with Sienna was particularly memorable, while his later involvement with Vicky gave the character another interesting dynamic. There is still plenty of scope to revisit those relationships and explore what life has been like for Ethan away from the village.
With Hollyoaks continuing to reshape its cast and storylines, bringing back a familiar and established character like Ethan could give viewers another reason to tune in.
He has history, connections and unfinished business in the village. Sometimes the best returns are the ones that bring back characters viewers already have an emotional investment in.
Ethan’s story in Hollyoaks doesn’t have to be over just yet.
We know that Hollyoaks bumped him off. But in the Hollyoaks world it doesn’t mean much. Ethan was one of the best new characters introduced to the soap.
