EastEnders is set for another dramatic episode as Amy Mitchell struggles to deal with the aftermath of a terrifying ordeal, while her family desperately tries to understand what has happened.
But there is a devastating secret hanging over the Mitchell family, and Amy could soon find herself facing some very difficult questions.
After escaping Craig Ingram’s clutches, Amy returned home covered in bruises. Her dad Jack Branning immediately noticed that something was wrong, but Amy initially struggled to open up about what had happened.
With Jack and Denise Fox unable to get through to her, Sean Slater decides to stay close in the hope that Amy will eventually feel comfortable enough to talk.
However, Amy is already worried about the consequences of what has happened.
Craig Ingram is dead after being struck over the head with a candlestick during the previous episode. Amy had been standing over his lifeless body before fleeing the scene.
Now, with the police arriving at the Mitchell household, Amy is forced to explain her final moments with Craig.
She claims that she managed to unlock the bedroom door and escape without looking back to see whether he was following her.
But will the police believe her version of events? And could they discover that Amy knows more about Craig’s death than she is letting on?
Elsewhere, tensions continue between Max Branning and the Carter family as he attempts to involve himself in Linda’s problems with her children.
After Nancy orders him to stay out of their business, Max turns to daughter Lauren for advice.
Meanwhile, a familiar face makes a shock return to Walford as Janine Butcher appears in a mysterious meeting with an unknown man.
Handed a brown envelope, Janine takes a look at its contents before declaring that they are “perfect”.
But what is she planning, and could her return have major consequences for Albert Square?
EastEnders continues on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
