Emmerdale star Danny Miller has surprised fans with how much he has changed in recent years, both in his appearance and in the way he has approached his life away from the soap.

The actor, best known for playing Aaron Dingle, recently shared before-and-after photographs on social media which showed a noticeable difference in his appearance.

Danny opens up about his transformation

Rather than simply being about losing weight, Danny explained that the change represented something much bigger for him.

Looking back at an older photograph, he said he remembered feeling run down and tired while putting himself at the bottom of his own priority list.

The actor explained that becoming a father had made him think differently about looking after himself and wanting to be the best version of himself for his family.

Danny was keen to point out that his transformation wasn’t about trying to be perfect. Instead, he described it as being about feeling healthier, happier and having more energy.

He also admitted that he is still a work in progress, but said he was proud of how far he had come. (The Sun)

A major change away from Emmerdale

Danny’s lifestyle change has gone beyond his appearance.

In May, the actor revealed that he had reached one year of sobriety, explaining that he had made the decision to stop drinking as part of his efforts to better himself for his family and career. (The Independent)

The milestone came as Danny continued balancing his career with life as a father and husband.

Fans have therefore seen a very different side to the actor compared with the Danny Miller many viewers first got to know through Emmerdale.

But Aaron Dingle is still Aaron Dingle!

While Danny’s real-life appearance and lifestyle may have changed, his Emmerdale character hasn’t suddenly abandoned his trademark style.

Earlier this year, Danny even joked about a change to Aaron’s wardrobe after being given a slightly smarter look by the show’s costume department.

For long-time Emmerdale viewers, it’s certainly interesting to see just how much Danny has changed since his early days as Aaron.

And judging by the reaction to his recent photographs, plenty of fans have noticed the transformation too.
