Emmerdale is set for another dramatic week in the Dales, with Charity Dingle finally returning home, Gabby Thomas facing a worrying health crisis and Jimmy King’s funeral bringing some of his biggest secrets to light.

There is plenty of drama ahead between Monday 5 and Friday 9 October, as several villagers find themselves dealing with difficult situations.

Charity Dingle finally comes home

Charity receives an unexpected shock when she learns that she is being released from prison.

However, her return to the village isn’t quite the happy reunion she might have imagined.

Charity is desperate to see Sarah Sugden and hopes that they might be able to repair their relationship after everything that has happened between them.

But Sarah isn’t exactly ready to welcome her grandmother back with open arms.

The pair eventually come face-to-face for a private conversation, leaving Charity wondering whether Sarah can ever forgive her.

Meanwhile, Sarah’s own situation continues to become increasingly complicated as DS Thea Ramsden attempts to persuade her to abandon her blackmail plan.

Gabby is rushed to hospital

Gabby Thomas’ struggles take a worrying turn next week.

Manpreet Sharma has become increasingly concerned about Gabby’s behaviour and believes she could be suffering from orthorexia.

Laurel is also worried after seeing some troubling signs from Gabby’s social media activity, but when she tries to track her down, she has no idea how serious the situation has become.

Gabby suffers a severe panic attack while at The Hide and later collapses.

She eventually wakes up in hospital, where she makes an important decision.

Gabby gives Manpreet permission to explain her concerns to Laurel, suggesting that she may finally be prepared to accept the help and support being offered to her.

Jimmy’s funeral takes an unexpected turn

The village prepares to say goodbye to Jimmy King, but his funeral is unlikely to be a peaceful occasion.

Nicola is still struggling to come to terms with the revelations surrounding her husband’s secret life and his connection to Sadie.

As more evidence comes to light, Nicola becomes determined to discover exactly what Jimmy had been hiding.

There are also mysterious voice recordings which could reveal more about Jimmy’s secrets.

Sadie and Robert go searching for Jimmy’s money

The mystery surrounding Jimmy’s missing cash continues.

A key discovered among Jimmy’s belongings eventually provides an important clue when it is identified as belonging to a locker at Hotten Golf Club.

Sadie and Robert are desperate to get there before anyone else and discover whether Jimmy really hid the money inside.

But they aren’t the only people interested in finding out what is inside the locker.

Nicola prepares to speak at Jimmy’s funeral

Things become particularly tense when the funeral finally arrives.

Sadie turns up and takes a place among the mourners, while Charles prepares to speak.

However, Nicola isn’t content to simply sit and listen.

She decides to make her own speech, raising the possibility of an emotional and potentially explosive moment as she confronts the truth about her late husband.
