Emmerdale fans could be in for a huge blast from the past, with speculation growing that former village resident Steve Marchant could one day make a sensational comeback.
Actor Paul Opacic played Steve between 1996 and 1999, during one of the most memorable periods in Kim Tate’s history.
Steve was married to Kim, but their relationship ended in spectacular fashion when Kim framed him for financial fraud, resulting in him being sent to prison.
Now, with Kim once again at the centre of major family revelations, viewers have been wondering whether Steve’s name could be brought back into the picture.
Recent developments surrounding DS Thea Ramsden, who has been revealed to be Kim Tate’s biological daughter, have also sparked questions about the family’s past and whether there could be more secrets waiting to emerge.
Could Steve have a connection to the latest Tate family drama? And would Kim’s former husband have any reason to return to the village after almost three decades away?
At this stage, there has been no official confirmation from ITV that Paul Opacic is reprising his role, so a comeback remains speculation rather than confirmed news.
However, with Emmerdale never short of a dramatic twist, would you like to see Steve Marchant return?
Would Steve’s return make good viewing? Let us know in the comments!
